More Mpenza!
Home Up

Mbo Mpenza stopped conversing with my "real" email address, so I sent the following note to him from Sam Walton.  Note that Mbo never sent Sam an initial invitation.

(Sent 6/18/2002)

Thank you for contacting me regarding your predicament. How may I be of assistance?

Sincerely,

Sam

(Received 6/19/2002)

Dear sam,

Thank you very much for your kind attention on this matter. And i would appreciate you and i to be honest and God fearing on this transaction. (Yes, we must be honest)

Note that i have taken care of all necessary pre-formalities that will enable a hitch-free transaction.Expecially, obtaining the relevant documents including the DRUG/MONEY laundering clearance certificate, that certify the funds as NON DRUG,CRIMINAL NOR TERRORIST related money. (Excellent...wouldn't want any tainted money)

On your arrival in Abidjan international airport, you would be expected to check in any hotel of your choice and contact me,as soon as this is done,we shall first of all sign an agreement document that will protect our various shares. After the signing of the agreement and memorandum of understanding,we shall proceed straight to any of the local banks we intend to open a non-residence account for the onward telegraphic transfer of the funds to your nominated account. And immediately the account is confirmed open,we shall proceed to the security company to sign for the delivery of the consignment. And i would appreciate you indicate in your return mail,if you would be needing any physical cash money while in Abidjan from your 25% share, this would enable me know the exact amount to transfer to your account. Also we shall remove the mark (FOR MILITARY USE ONLY)on the bills before depositing the funds in the non residence account.

Note that it would at least take 48hrs to confirm the telegraphic transfer to your account, though we might not wait.As soon as the T/T is done,we would be given copies of the confirmation slip of the T/T to enable us board the next available flight to your country to share the funds. The transaction would not take more than three(3) working days. And it's absolute risk-free, since i am in constant contact with Ivorian minister of finance. Further i am working in line with the Ivorian government monetary regulation. As soon as you confirm your flight schedule,i would send you the agreement/memorandum of understanding. Look forward to hearing from you shortly.

NB:please confirm your confidential telephone number (mobile phone if possible),to enable us speak directly. You could contact me on 234-80-332-01861

Dear Mbo,

First of all, is it Mbo Mpenza or Mpenza Mbo? I have a friend named Leslie Robert and people are always confused which is his first name and which is his last (or if he is a she since Leslie is often a woman's name). Are you named after the World Cup soccer player, or is it just a common name in that part of the world?

Sorry for the digression...back to the business at hand. I'm pleased that you offered reassurance of the fact that the money was not obtained through drug trade or terrorist activity. I'm sure you agree with me that there is far too much deception and crime in the world and I certainly don't want to be involved in anything nefarious.

I've done some checking into flights to Abidjan and found a daily flight on Delta (flight 8574) that arrives around 6 PM local time. What hotel chains are located in Abidjan? I usually stay at Embassy Suites as they have an excellent "happy hour". ;-)

What bank do you use for the funds? I have an account at Fleet Bank (account number 9432863994), but I may switch banks. The head teller is really nasty and even though I'm in there several times a week she always asks me for ID.

My cell phone number is xxx-xxx-xxxx if you want to discuss things directly.

Sincerely,

Sam

DEAR SAM,

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR MAIL. ONCE AGAIN I HOPE THIS BUSINESS WILL BE DONE IN GOOD FAITH . I IMMEDIATELY AFTER I RECEIVE YOUR MAIL, I DECIDED TO LIVE FOR ABIDJAN THIS MORNING TO CONCLUDE WITH THE SECURITY COMPANY ON THE ISSUES OF DELIVERY TO AVOID ANY DELAY ALONG THE LINE OF TRANSACTION. SO LET ME GET BACK TO YOU ON SUNDAY EVENING {22ND JUNE} MY TIME FROM THAT POINT. I SHOULD BE ABLE TO WORK OUT THE TIME TABLE FOR THE TRANSACTION.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. GOD BLESS YOU.

WARMEST REGARDS,

MPENZA MBO

(Sent 6/20/2002)

Dear Mpenza,

Over here, Sunday is going to be on the 23rd. I guess it will still be the 22nd over there because of the International Date Line? Time zones are so confusing. Either way, I'll be in church all day so I won't be checking my email until Monday the 24th (23rd in your time zone).

I'm glad you're arranging things so I don't have to stand in any lines for the transaction. Bank lines can stretch on forever, especially around lunchtime.

I anxiously await your next informative communique.

Sincerely,

Sam Walton

I TRIED TO CONTACT YOU ALL DAY,BUT YOUR PHONE WAS SWITCH OFF,SO PLEASE IWANT YOU TO PUT IT ON SO THAT WE WILL COMMUNICATE URGENTLY.

(Sent 6/25/2002)

Dear Mpenza,

Sorry, but it's all legal mumbo jumbo to me. My lawyer will take a look at the agreement and I'll let you know if there are any problems. Luckily there are tons of lawyers down here so I should be able to get back to you by tomorrow.

I'm sorry you couldn’t get through on my cell phone. My cellular coverage was great before I relocated, but it's gone down the toilet since moving down here. I keep complaining but nothing gets done.

Sincerely,

Sam

(Sent 6/27/2002)

Dear Mpenza,

I had some free time this morning to look over the agreement you emailed to me and I have a question. Is it required that I travel to Abidjan to complete the transaction? I'm pretty restricted in my travel now that I've relocated, so I'd prefer if we could handle this from here.

Thanks for your patience.

Sam

(Received 7/1/2002)

Dear sam,

Thanks you very much for your mail, though i had hold over the weekend that's the reason why my reply was delayed. Further,it is absolutely important that you come to Abidjan otherwise there will be no business at all,for the reason that i am present seeking asylum and it's impossible for an asylum seeker to operate any bank account whatsoever, therefore,i need the assistance of a foreigner like you in other to transfer the fund.

Also, for me to entrust such an amount of money to anybody,i think it is wise for both of us to meet at least to sign the agreement that will protect our interest. We can by ourself,we can reason with each other.

I hope to have a lasting relationship with you. Thank you very much, and God bless you.

Your's faithfully,

Mpenza Mbo

Mpenza,

I totally understand your predicament...I was in an asylum once and I wasn't allowed to do any business transactions.

Your proposal sounds reasonable so I have begun to make arrangements to travel to Abidjan. As you seem to be busy over the weekends (Do you go to the beach?), should I plan for travel in the middle of the week? What date should I try and make my travel plans for? I can probably get a flight by July 10 or 11.

I've attached a picture of me so you will be able to recognize me when I arrive. I'd appreciate a photo of you as well as a fax of the agreement that we will need to execute.

Sincerely,

Sam

(Received 7/3/2002) Note - Mpenza appears a bit concerned that Sam was in an asylum

Dear sam,

Thanks you very much for your mail. Please note that i would appreciate your reassurance that this business will be absolutely secret and confidential from your side.

Further, immediately after receiving your mail,I quickly contacted the security company for a delivery date, though they(the security company)are still working on it.So i can only confirm your departure date a day after tomorrow(wednesday). Also,i think it's necessary we communicate by telephone, could you please provide an alternative telephone number including a fax number, because i will need to fax you some confidential documents from the security company regarding the lodgement. And an address where i would have to mail(express)my picture to you since i dont have a scanner.

By the way,why were you once on asylum?, I await your responses. And i thank you very much for your understanding.God bless you.

Yours faithfully,

Mpenza Mbo

(Sent 7/3/2002)

Dear Mpenza,

Please confirm a reasonable date for my arrival so I can make my travel arrangements.

If you need to fax me documents, you can use xxx-xxx-xxxx.

I'd prefer not to discuss details of my time in the loony bin. My doctor says that I should not dwell on those years.

Sam

(Received 7/4/2002)

Dear Sam,

Thank you very much for your kind attention on this matter. please note by my arrangement,i advise you arrive Abidjan on sunday the 14th of this month, sothat by monday(next day)we shall start transaction and conclude on wednesday.please confirm by return.

I did not understand "i'd prefer not to discuss details of my time in the loony bin.My doctors says that i should not dwell on those years." Also, note that i do not intend to discuss details with you over the phone, since confidentiality matters a lot in this business. I think it's necessary for us to say hi at least over the phone before our meeting.Think about it.

Iwill be faxing you copies of my confidential documents of lodgement from the security company today or tomorrow.please you treat with utmost secrecy and confidentiality.

Look forward to hearing from you you soon.

God bless you.

Warmest Regards,

Mpenza

(Reply sent 7/6/2002)

Dear Mpenza,

I have made the necessary travel arrangements to arrive via Delta airlines flight 8574 on Sunday July 14. I believe the flight arrives at 6:05 PM local time. Will you be able to meet me at the airport?

I have also taken the liberty of opening an transfer account in Barclay's Bank (Abidjan) and deposited some initial funds ($25,000) so that we can more easily make the transfer on Monday (July 15).

Sincerely,

Sam

(Received 7/8/2002)

Dear Sam,

I hope you had a nice weekend. I have just concluded with the Security company regarding the immediate delivery of the consignment upon our arrival, and all other arrangements are perfect.

Please note you have to come along the following:-

{1} 5 copies of your recent passport size photograph (This way we have some extras to screw up when making some fake documentation)

{2} photostart copies of your international passport {first three pages}, dully signed by you.

Further, i have faxed copy of the receipt that i paid the security company. Please i would appreciate you come along with their balance of US$45,000.00. (Oh yeah, lemme tuck $45,000 in cash in my pocket and head right on over!) And as soon as we receive the delivery you will immediately have it back. I have exhusted all the money I have on arrangements, but I did not know that the deumurrage costs that much, and the condition of delivery is strictly upon settlement of outstanding charges. And the mode of payment is strictly on cash basis, since I was not able to do bank transction.

Kindly indicate in your return mail, if you would want me to make a hotel reservation for you. If yes, please state details clearly.

Thank you very much. Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours Faithfully,

Mpenza.

Note:  Wow...an "official receipt"!  Must be genuine

(Reply sent 7/8/2002)

Dear Mpenza,

Things are moving along quite nicely. I will go out today and acquire some passport photos, but the cash is a different issue. That is quite a bit of cash to be carrying around, especially when entering a foreign country. I will bring some in cash and some in traveler's cheques which I will cash when I arrive.

I have already made arrangements at a local hotel (the Ibis Plateau Hotel), but I thank you for offering your assistance. Rather than meeting at the airport, we should plan on meeting on Monday in case there are delays in my flight or other problems.

Sincerely,

Sam

(Received 7/9/2002)

Dear Sam,

Thank you very much for your kind assistance. And I would appreciate you understand that your arrangement with a local Hotel {The Ibris Plateau Hotel} is not comfortable with me for security reasons Ibris Plateau Hotel is right in the middle of the town, as such, I can not Guarantee an absolute security for us. I have been in Abidjan for quite sometime, and I think I know nice places for a condusive atmosphre. Further, You would agree with me that it is my absolute responsibility to protect your intrest throughout our stay in Cote'd Ivorie.

Therefore,I suggest you should cancel your reservation with Ibris Plateau Hotels and chose either Golf Intercontinetal Hotel or Palm beach Hotels. Both are five star Hotels on an exclusive environment with maximum security. My reasons is because I intend to stay in the same Hotel with you and for security reasons Golf Intercontinental and Palm beach are five stars.

Upon your acceptance, I will make my reservation tomorrow {Wednesday}, and will also inform you on how to locate me on any of the Hotels.

Thanking you very much for your kind co-operation and will be looking forward to having a drink with you in America.

God bless you.

Yours Faithfully,

Mpenza.

(Reply sent 7/9/2002)

Dear Mpenza,

It will be quite wonderful to finally meet you and toast our new friendship. I'm sorry that my hotel arrangements have caused you concern, but I would prefer to keep my reservations as planned. The Ibis Plateau hotel is convenient to the bank where I opened my account so it will be easier for me to withdraw the cash I have already transferred.

We can still arrange to meet at a location of your choice, and either of those hotels would be fine. Please let me know when you make your reservation, and then we can meet in the lobby of your hotel on Monday in the afternoon. My return flight is not until Wednesday so we have some time to complete the necessary paperwork and still enjoy a drink and ponder our newfound wealth.

Sincerely,

Sam

(Received 7/11/2002)

Dear Sam,

Please note that i have made reservation with Ibis Hotel Plateau for saturday through wednesday next week,(our departure to USA). Please could you let me know our departure time on wednesday by return.

Further, you would agree with me that at this stage we need an absolute secrecy and confidentiality.Yesterday i discussed with my mother over the phone regarding security precautions for our safety throughout the transaction. And one major point we agreed on was that You and I must not be seen together in the public,That is,Hotel lobby, coffee shops e.t.c, for reason that I would not know who is following me since i am still in Africa. And because of the death of my father i have to be very careful while in Africa, that is basically the reason why i have decided to settle down in the United States of America, where there is law and order e.t.c.

I will contact you through the hotel telephone operator two or three hours from the time of your arrival. We shall hold a brief meeting on any of our rooms,on how we shall go into transaction the next morning.

Also,it will be very nice if we can give the C.E.O of  the security company a gift, because I have already told him about your coming and he is really willing to assist us throughout the transaction including conveying the funds with his security men to the bank.I think a Lab-Top computer will do.I could not find any over here because of time.

Thank you very much.Ilook forward to seeing you on sunday.

Yours faithfully,

MPENZA

(Reply sent 7/11/2002)

Dear Mpenza,

I am getting most excited at the thought of finally completing our transaction. That is good news that you will be at the same hotel, and I agree that we should not meet in the public areas.

However, I must tell you that in order to guarantee my own security I have registered using an assumed name. Please do not take offense at this precaution, but as I will be in possesion of a large amount of cash I am a bit paranoid. Although I believe you have my best interests at heart, I still know very little about you and I don't even know what you look like.

I propose that once I am settled in my room I will call you and make further arrangements. Remember that I will have travelled a long time (via Paris on Saturday) and will probably be suffering some jet lag from the journey. Once I have rested and freshened up, I can call you in your hotel room and arrange a meeting.

As far as the gift for the CEO, I will see what I can do given the short notice...I can probably purchase a nice computer tonight as I will be busy tomorrow preparing for my journey. I will be travelling with my laptop and will check my email on Saturday once I am in Paris. I will also bring my cell phone (914-720-1457) but I'm not sure if the service will work while in Paris and Abidjan.

Sincerely,

Sam

(Received 7/12/2002)

Dear Sam,

Please, note that as part of our security precaution,I am trying to arrange for somebody to check me in with his name because i wouldn't want my name to appear in any of the hotel list..Please do send me your hotel room number through mail upon your arrival to enable me contact you immediately. (Sounds like Mpenza isn't really checking in at the hotel either)

Further,it is high time we maitain a top secrecy and confidentiality in this business,as such,on your arrival at the Airport,do not disclose the nature of our business to anybody as they might ask you casually ,the reason of being to Abidjan ,I suggest you said that you are coming for a holiday or vacation.

I wish you safe flight.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

Yours sincerely,

MPENZA

(This is getting so exciting...I feel like I'm really heading to Abidjan.  What will happen Sunday? How will Sam turn the tables on Mpenza?  Tune in Monday to find out!)

(Received Saturday 7/13/2002)

I have gotten a direct confidential telephone number. Please contact me with this number (225)07401153 upon your arrival, though I will be in the hotel, but for security reason.

(Voice mail received Monday 7/15/2002 11:30am EDT) Sounding a bit annoyed, then apologetic*

Hello Sam, this is Mpenza Mbo.  I'm afraid we're not going to do this business because if this is how we're going to continue.   I mean <garbled>. I've been here trying to arrange everything but you've not been able to open up to me. I need transference in this case.  Why? What for? Why do we have to hide where we are? What?  Can't you just reach me? I've sent mail to you, I've tried my best.  *Anyway, I think I still appreciate, you know, you call me back as soon as you got this message. You can reach me locally here at 07401153. Thank you. Bye.

(Reply sent 7/15/2002 1:15pm EDT)

Mpenza,

You told me you would call after checking the money this afternoon, and I have waited all day in my room for your call. There should be no problem with the currency I gave you to test as it came directly from the bank.

Why are you attempting to call on my cell phone? Don't you remember that you and I were unable to get it to work this morning? I just tried it again and still get no signal. Are we still meeting tomorrow morning at the security company as we agreed?

Hello Sam, this is Mpenza.  I just want to let you know that you are not dealing with the right person. I think you are dealing with the wrong person. I have sent you my personal email and I will leave you this message right now. It is high time you called me on my local number and I will talk.  I will let you know that what you are doing is the wrong thing.  I hope you call me back as soon as you get this message and stop dealing with anybody whatsoever in Abidjan until you get to know who you are dealing with.

(Reply sent 7/15/2002 5:00pm EDT) Subject: Deal is off

Mpenza,

I don't know who met me at the hotel this morning, but he claimed to be you and knew much about our pending transaction. I gave him $5,000 in cash for testing as he told me the security company wanted to verify that I was not using counterfeit money. I also gave him the laptop computer as you requested for the security company CEO, although he was a bit surprised about it. That should have tipped me off but I was not as suspicious as I should have been.

I changed hotels at his request, but after discovering the fraud being perpetrated on me I have moved for my protection to the American Embassy on Rue Jesse Owens. At the advice of the American consul, I will be departing on the next available flight for my safety as well as to protect my assets.

Although you have provided me with assurances of your honesty, I am now wondering about how the imposter Mpenza knew of my arrival in Abidjan. I suspect that he is an accomplice working with you to cause confusion and take as much money from me as possible. I am unable to get my cell phone working, and I cannot impose on my hosts at the embassy to allow me use of their telephone to contact you, especially since they are recommending strongly against it. They have graciously allowed me to use their computer to access my email via the web in order to facilitate my return trip home to my wife and family, but I cannot impose on them after tonight. Please do not contact me further regarding this matter.

Sam

(Received 7/15/2002 5:45pm EDT) Subject: THANKS FOR YOUR EFFORTS SAM

DEAR SAM,

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR EXPRESSIONS AND I AM NOW CONVINCED THAT I AM NOT DEALING WITH THE WRONG PERSON.

ALSO,I APPRECIATE YOUR UNDERSTANDING TOWARDS THE WHOLE SITUATION EVEN IF YOU ARE NO LONGER INTERESTED IN THIS DEAL. BUT LET ME SAY THAT THIS IS THE BIGGEST TEMPTATION THAT HAS EVER HAPPEN TO ME AFTER THE DEATH OF MY FATHER. I HAVE THREE DIFFRENT PERSONAL ASSISTANCES HELPING ME, AND UNFORTUNATELY THERE MUST BE A JUDAS IN EVERY TWELVE. (So he suspects one of his buddies...LOL) THEY HAVE EVERY ASSES TO MY TRANSACTIONS INCLUDING MY EMAILS PASSWORDS. AT THE MOMENT I STILL COULD FIND ONE OF THEM SINCE MORNING, MAY BE HE THOUGHT YOU ARE A DUBIOUS PERSON TO CONIVE WITH IN OTHER TO DIVERT MY MONEY. THAT WAS BASICALLY WHY I DID NOT WANT TO CHANGE THE OWNERSHIP OF THE CONSIGNMENT PRIOR YOUR ARRIVAL, BUT DUE TO MY NEGLIGIENCE I INSISTED TO COME DOWN TO ABIDJAN WITH THEM. I WOULD NOT BLAME YOUR EMBASSY FOR INSISTING AGAINST THE BUSINESS AS THAT IS THE BEST PROTECTION THEY WOULD GIVE YOU FOR YOUR SAFETY. I THINK I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL AND I ASSUMED TO BE IN YOUR SHOES. PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF MY FUTURE. THOUGH I ADVISED YOU OF THE APPROPRIATE PLACE TO BE IN ORDER TO AVOID THIS KIND OF SITUATION. YOU WILL AGREE WITH ME THAT EVERYTHING IN THIS WORLD IS RISK INCLUDING THE FOOD WE EAT. AS SUCH,I WILL ADVISE YOU TO TAKE HARTH AND BE STRONG,AS THIS COULD HAPPEN TO ANY BODY. I HAVE EVERYTHING IN PLACE, THAT IS, THE ORIGINAL COPY OF OUR AGREEMENT, funds READY TO BE DELIVERED TO THE BANK UPON OUR INSTUCTION. BY THE WAY, WHY WOULD A SECURITY COMPANY DEMAND FOR PART OF THEIR BALANCE FOR CURRENCY CONFIRMATION? IS THAT RIGHT?. WELL IF GOD INTENDS TO USE YOU FOR ME TO SETTLE DOWN IN AMERICA, IT WILL DEFINATELLY HAPPEN. DO NOT GIVE UP SAM GOOD THINGS DOES NOT COME EASILLY, IT IS JUST A TEMPTATION. I AM NOW BY MY SELF IN THIS BUSINESS AND HAVE CHANGED MY PASSWORDS AND I HOPE YOU WOULD NOT DISCLOSE MORE THAN WHAT YOU HAVE SAID TO YOUR EMBASSY FOR MY SECURITY REASONS. (In other words, please don't go to the cops!)  I PRAY THAT GOD WILL GUIDE AND PROTECT YOU IN RETURN TRIP TO USA.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH SAM FOR YOUR EFFORTS AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU ABUNDANTLY WARMEST REGARDS,

MPENZA MBO

NB; WHEN EVER I AM ABLE TO GET A SCANNER I WILL SEND YOU MY PICTURE FOR FUTURE RECOGNITION. THANKS

(Received Tuesday 7/16/2002) Subject: SORRY FOR THE INCONVINIECES

DEAR SAM,

ONCE AGAIN I APOLOGISE FOR ALL THE INCONVINIECES,BUT DO NOT CALL OFF THE DEAL AS YOU INTEND TO.I AM VERY SORRY FOR THE WHOLE SITUATION. IF YOU CONSIDER IT SAFE FOR ME TO COME TO YOUR EMBASSY AND CLEARIFY MY GOODSELF MORE,PLEASE LET ME KNOW. OTHERWISE LETS MEET AT ANY LOCATION OF YOUR CHOICE. I STILL WANT TO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. I HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG TO YOU, IT IS JUST THAT YOU FEEL INSECURE WITH WHAT HAPPENED. YOU SEEM TO BE A NICE PERSON AND IT WILL TAKE A WHOLE CENTURY TO FIND SOMEBODY LIKE YOU.BUT DO NOT FORGET THAT YOUR ASSISTANCES FOR ME TO SETTLE DOWN IN USA WILL AMONGST OTHER RELEVANCES TOUCH THE LIFE OF SO MANY PEOPLE AROUND ME, ESPECIALLY MY AGED MOTHER WHO HAS BEEN SUFFERING FROM BREAST CANCER. Oh jeesh...on top of everything else his mom has breast cancer AND BY MY ARRANGEMENTS I INTEND DEPARTING WITH YOU TOMORROW AS PLANED, FOR USA.

SO THAT IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS I SHOULD BE TALKING ABOUT BRINGING HER TO THE STATES FOR A PROPER TREATMENT AND ALSO WITH MY WIFE AND DAUGTHER. (I wonder what happened to the brother mentioned in the original email?) SAM PLEASE THINK ABOUT US AND SEE IF THERE IS ANYWAY YOU CAN RECONSIDER MY PROPOSAL. IF MONEY IS EVERYTHING WE WOULD NOT BE ASKING ANYBODY FOR ANY ASSISTANCE WHATSOEVER. WE ARE REALLY FINDING IT DIFFICULT TO BE IN EXILE FOR THIS LONG.

I HOPE WE MOVE ON FOR A BETTER UNDERSTANDING.

I REMAIN TRUELY YOURS,

Dear Mpenza (If that is your real name),

Please discontinue communication with me. Since my return to the states, I have been informed by the FBI that this was all an elaborate scam. I am lucky to have escaped and only lost $5000 and a laptop as others have lost far more. The game is over, and now others will know of your deception because of the Yahoo news story below.

Subject: Investigate properly, then get back to me

Dear Sam,

I am very sorry for all the inconvinience caused. You are just upset and have gone too far with your grieviances (annoyances). You need time to realise the reality in the whole matter. You can never find out the truth if you continue to have the same impression.

Further,if there is real, there would be fake.I am quite aware of some international fraudulent practices going on in Africa, and I am also aware of some some African people being chased up and down with your so called FBI to come and explain sources or origin of funds that was trasfered in the same way as mine, and because of fear of prosecution,we(Africans)have lost billions of dollars.

Please tell me which FBI of whom you report to,in other to clear my goodself.Because of your political interest, you have decided to add more pains to my injury,by exposing me to the world. I am not poor, but may be you are richer by trying to do business in a cheap and dingy hotel where you will find imposters of Mpenza,as a result you decided to put every blames on me,claiming that it was a game or fraud.Even when I warned you subsequently.

Now,why didn't you want to talk to me on phone since the beginning of the deal?.Why did it took you long time to provide a fax number?and why is your mobile always on voice mail for a business like this?.Do you think that I am stupid because I am black man?No sam,you got every thing wrong.

Am still prepared to do business with you if only you will be willing to clear my name. And I am still prepared to go to any FBI to prove my innocence and to prove to Mr Sam Walton that, not all African business proposals are fraud.

I hope you will understand that I am not a politician desperate about money.

Thank you and God bless you.

Either way it was a scam and there is nothing you can do to change my mind.

Sam

(Received 7/18/2002) Subject: TO ERR IS HUMAN AND TO FORGIVE IS DIVINE

Dear Sam,

Thank you very much for mail. Please understand that Mr Fedrick Tokosa who almost double crossed is now presently in jail in Abidjan. If you wish to confirm please let me know,I can provide details, and he isnot my brother, Like I said in one of my mails, he is only a personal assistance to me who thougth you are one the dubious people that he can conieve with to divert my money since he has almost all the informations about my money.

I am not trying to force you to continue with me, but you wouldn't know the extent of damage this has caused me. If I don't get my name cleared in this mess, I will find it difficult to settle down with life. What can I do to prove my innocence to you? also, to prove to you that is not a scam. I can take the risk of sending a box of the money {US$25m} by diplomatic courier services, if you agree then we have to back it up with a fresh Agreement/memoradum of understanding that will protect our interests.

Sam please calm down, I know that there are a lot of frauds going round the world, but I can assure you that this is not one. I hope time will allow you to understand every thing about the truth in this matter.

Thank you and God Bless you.

Warmest Regards,

Mpenza

What is your brother's name?

(Received 7/18/2002)

Dear Sam,

My bother's name is Mepidenza Oshilu Mbo. And he is not the perpetrator that met you in Abidjan. The Idiot's name that met with you is Fedrick Tokosa. You are a big Man with a srong contact, you can verify and let me know your findings. But please play low in the course of your investigation as he (Fedrick) might blow my details up to attract attention from back home (Angola). More espercially, giving details of my whereabout.Since he is now a looser.

Thank you very much, and i hope the almighty God will bring more understanding to us to enable us complete what we have stated.

God bless you.

Mpenza Mbo

NB:I HAVE ALWAYS TRUST AND BELIEVE THAT YOU WILL OBLIGE ME THE SECURITY AND ATTENTION IT DEMANDS. PLEASE TREAT THIS TRANSACTION WITH ABSOLUTE CONFIDENTIALITY. THANK YOU.

Mpenza,

Sorry, but all this time I thought you understood English. I guess I must have been mistaken because you keep writing to me even though I've told you to stop. What part of "Stop contacting me" don't you understand?

Getting angrier by the minute,

Sam

(Received 7/24/2002)

Dear Sam,

I am sorry to say that I didn't mean to make you anggry or upset you,I was only trying to prove my innocence to you. However,I have decided to move funds to Madrid,Spain through diplomatic means. Truly amazing how Mpenza moved the funds from Ivory Coast to Spain with no difficulty!

If this interest you, please let me know,I could still meet with you in Spain since the funds will arrive tomorrow. As Africa is no longer condusive for me to carry out this transaction.

I hope this meet's you well, though this is the last time I will contact you if you insist on not being interested.I think I can still silicit for other peoples assistance whilst in Spain.

Thank you very much .

Yours faithfully,

Mpenza

(Received 8/23/2002) Wow, this guy doesn't give up!

Dear Sam,

I did not intend to inconvince or worry you but I have to once again appologize for what happend in Abidjan and pray that you forgive me as I never intend to dupe you. The almeighty God is my witness and only him knows the truth about the whole thing that happend and why it happened like that.

Dear Sam, I don't know how you will feel, but I have to beg you to write and send to me a POWER OF ATTONERY to ebable me change your name as the legal owner of the consignment, rember I did a change of ownership on your name, and now the Security company is demanding a letter from you aurthorizing them (SECURITY COMPANY} to change and release the funds to another good sameritian, who have agreed to help me to conclude the transaction in Madrid, Spain.

Please Sam, it very important that you urgently send to me or you could better send it to the Security company as my partner has concluded plans with the Security to move the consignment to Spain. They (SEVURITY COMPANY) are only waiting to recieve the power of attonery from you.

Dear Sam, please do me this favour and I will at the end of this business compensate you with 3% from my money for you to cover your expences to Abidjan. It pains me a lot that you did not conclude this business with because I took like my Father but since you opted out, I didn't know what to do or say than to offer you some percentage out of my share to prove to that I am not what you think. God knows. If I am a fraud star like you think, I WOULD HAVE COME TO WAIT FOR AT AIR PORT. But I was trying to save my life because of the way the Angolan Government is going after me.

Should you like/want to send to Security company, their E-mail Address: wfs_sa@financier.com Look forward to hearing from shortly.

Thank you very much. God bless you.

Warmest Regards,

Mpenza.

(Received 8/26/2002) Sam didn't reply, so Mpenza writes again

Dear Sam,

It is unfair that you have just decided to frustrate my efforts in concluding my transaction; you opted out just because of a little temptation. As a father, you would known that good things don't come so easy.

Father Sam, will it cost you money to write the power of attorney and send to me, please that is the requirements of the Security Company before they (Security Company) can move consignment to Spain. I thought you are a Christian, why have not forgotten and forgive me in what happened in the past. Like I told in last my mail, I would have come to wait for you at air port if I am what you are now taking me to be. Dear father Sam, to Err is human and to forgive is divine, so I will appreciate if you will take heed to my pledge and send the power of attorney, to enable me conclude and settle down with my family PLEASE.

Thank you very much. God bless you.

Best Regards,

Mpenza.
